About The Event

Join us for an hour of fun all about Asian literature and art. Like little cherry blossoms they can fill us with happiness and appreciation. We will share a story about the Japanese man who first created haiku, listen to some haiku written by young people in the United States and Japan, and practice writing Japanese characters in calligraphy with a brush and ink. The haiku you write can be placed on a special haiku tree.

  • Recommended for kids in grades 2-6.
  • Registration required.
  • Limit: 30.
  • Located in the Downsbrough Community Room

Hosted by Schlow Library and presented by members of the PanAPIDA Circle

Registration can be done on Schlow Centre Region Library's event page here: Help Make the Haiku Tree Blossom.
